The context of John 3:16 is clear, Christ wanted Nicodemus
to believe, the words He was speaking;
"Verily Verily I say unto,
except a man be born of water and of the Spirit,
he can not enter into
the kingdom of heaven" John 3:5
Practicing His teachings, instead of evil,
is what those who
believe in the Messiah do. (John 3:19-21, Matthew 7:21-28, 1 John 2:3-4)
"He that has received His testimony has certified that
God is true.
For He whom God has sent, speaks the words of God,
for God gives not the
Spirit by measure to Him.
The Father loves the Son,
and has given all things
into His hand.
He that believes on the Son has everlasting life,
and he that believes not
the Son shall not see life"
John 3:36
"Verily I say unto you, Wherever
this good news shall be preached in
the whole world,
there also
shall this, {Matt 26:6-13, Mark 14:3-9, Luke
that this woman has done,
be told for a memorial of her."
Therefore we know that the meat of the good news is in
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
Paul's foundation is the actual words of Christ; 1 Timothy
6:3-14, as our foundation should be also.
Christ Himself is not absent of His words.
How can you accept a person without also accepting His
words?
How can you believe in a name, without believing in the
person behind the name?
Has the name itself saved you? Or has the person saved you?
